There are two 4-H Horse Clubs in Hunterdon County: Round Valley Riders and Centaurs plus a mounted drill team made up of members from both clubs
In the winter months members practice for the State Horse Bowl competition. Then they prepare for the Hippology and Horse Judging contests.
Summer is spent getting ready for the Hunterdon County Fair. The drill team does several performances during the summer and at the fair.
The 4-H Youth Development Program uses a learn-by-doing approach to enable youth to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills they need to become competent, caring and contributing citizens of the world. This is accomplished by using the knowledge and resources of caring adults. The goals of the 4-H Youth Development Program are to:

  • Provide informal, educational programs for youth in grades 1-13 (one year out of high school)
  • Encourage responsibility, community awareness and character development in youth
  • Strengthen skills for adults working with youth through publications and training
  • Improve community partnerships and collaborations

4-H offers educational programs to all youth, grades K-13, on an age appropriate basis, without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation or disability.
